I finally succumbed and bought JBCO

I have always been sceptical of Jamaican Black Castor Oil despite all the numerous evidence that is out there in the hair world about it’s miracle powers. See, my thinking was along the lines of: normal cold pressed, virgin castor oil can work just as well, and the price of JBCO put me off – especially here in South Africa. I have also been wary of ‘miracle’products in general – and have believed that consistency trumps any products on this here hair journey of mine. I mean, I used T444Z for 3 months and I didn’t see heaps of improved growth, but that is a story for another day.

The oil is from Tropical and comes in a plastic bottle with an applicator lid. It says it is 100% pure and original with only one ingredient: castor seed oil. The oil is produced in the USA, made from castor beans grown in Jamaica.

I plan to use it for my hairline and scalp massages (diluted with coconut oil or olive oil and some essential oils) and add some to my deep conditioners. I will only start using it after I relax my hair early in January – I think I will do a 16 week JBCO challenge so I can track my progress.

I bought one extra bottle for my friend who wears her hair natural and is also on a healthy hair journey πŸ™‚
