Hey everybody! I washed my hair over the weekend, over 2 days – I must say that deep conditioning overnight is working very well for me lately. During the week, I moisturised and sealed twice, and I definitely had a manipulation heavy week. Earlier the day on Saturday I went swimming in the ocean and did not protect my hair at all *bad Lungi* – so I new that my wash day had to be moisture focused. I also wanted to rock a curly style for the week. I love styling up my hair earlier on in my stretch because my hair is easier to handle, and I looooove curly hair.

Here is how it all went. After the ocean, I rinsed my hair for about 3 minutes to get the salt water off, I then let it loose. After about 1.5 hours, I started my wash day, by this time the hair had dried. Shampoo: Aunt Jackie’s Moisturising and Softening Shampoo, for the first time, this shampoo left my hair feeling dry and just not right. I’m thinking my lack of prepoo might have contributed to this. wpid-fotor_143186924155251.jpgInstant Conditioner: Boots Sun, Swim and Gym Conditioner – I left it on my hair for about 15 minutes while I finished the rest of my shower. This conditioner is magic I tell ya! My hair felt immediately soft after I applied it, and it has the most wonderful smell. I rinsed out the conditioner and I t-shirt dried my hair. When it was dry-ish, I applied some coconut oil. At this point, my hair felt very soft and tangle free, I had a good mind to skip the DC. Deep Conditioner: after 3 hours, my hair was already completely dry, I applied Joico K-Pak Intense Hydrator for the DC, I love this conditioner so much! I sat under my heat cap for 15 minutes and left the DC overnight. I rinsed out the DC and applied my usual leave-ins and I moisturised and sealed. I applied Schwarzkopf Smooth ‘n Shine Conditioning Foam Wrap all over my hair and put on my perm rods. I used 27 of them over the whole head. I made the sections very small so I could get tight curls. wpid-fotor_143186933807097.jpg I sat under my soft bonnet drier for 60 minutes. I took out the perm rods and separated the curls a bit whilst I had coconut oil on my fingers. I loved my curls – I like that the style gives an illusion of an afro. I will try to keep the curls for the week, I especially suck at this (keeping curls going) – please give me some tips on how to preserve my curls overnight and when I am jogging. *pretty please* The final results… wpid-2015-05-17-16-36-51-200.jpg And as I had predicted, my hair got ruined overnight. In the morning I stretched it out a bit with my hands and fashioned a do with a headband and my ends tucked away. I think it was a good enough rescue. image
