It’s Thursday, let’s throw it back to another holiday I took. My sister and I used to go on vacations that we called the Sisterhood Weekend Island Getaway (SWIG), on our first trip we went to Mauritius for 4 days. This was back in 2010. It was the first time either of us had been to Mauritius. We explored the small island, took a catamaran cruise, check out the capital, Port Louis and *tried* our hand at some water sports.
The hotel we stayed at was perfection
The area we took a catamaran to, Ilot Gabriel – I had never seen water sooo blue and clear!
The waterfront in the capital, Port Louis
Posing along the waterfront (back when I was still a slender lol!)
Getting help with putting on the water skis before getting into the water
Coming back defeated. I tried water skiing and couldn’t, I kept on falling into the water – at least I tried neh? The guy on the boat was so patient shame, he was such a gem.
Then I went kayaking and I was a natural. Kayak game on a hundred!
Out in the ocean doing my thing
Now that was the good life! Take me back
Sunsets to die for!
Mauritius was such an awesome island to visit, there is tons of stuff to do, we just scraped the surface. I’ll be featuring another SWIG travel post on another trip I took with my sister. Travelling with her is so much fun!
Aaaaaaaah! Take me with next time!!!
Your pics shows that you truly had a good time.
Oh wow, you are throwing me way back when I also went to Mauritius!! Its a beautiful place I agree with you, and as you said I also NEVER seen water so blue and clear like Mauritius, although when I was in Zanzibar, it was also a STRONG contender! Love the pics! I love (SWIG) lol…
Oh yes, you’re right both the islands have amazing water! It’s hard to pick! I’d love to see a post of your Mauritius travels on your blog *hint hint*
