my favourite podcasts

So part of my thing this year was to limit my TV time, so to achieve this, I disconnected my DSTV and was only left with the 4 humble free-to-air channels that we have here in SA. To make up some of my time, I have discovered podcasts; what I find great about them is that I can download them on my iPad and listen anytime: when I’m getting ready for work, when I’m filming videos for Youtube etc. Here are some of my favourite podcasts which I download on a regular basis and I do not miss episodes.

Call Your Girlfriend

Call your girlfriend podcasts

This podcast is hosted by long distance best friends Ann and Aminatou where they let us in on their weekly phone call to each other to catch up on what has been happening in the world. What I really love about it is that it’s almost like you are eavesdropping on a really good conversation! They cover topics like feminism, politics and menstruation. Some of the issues covered do go over my head because they are US based- but it is still a fun listen anyway.

Frank with J and T

frank with J and T podcast

This posted is hosted by 2 South African women Janine and Tshego – they cover topics like feminism, pop culture. What I love about this podcast is that it is South African, so I can relate to many of the issues discussed. Unfortunately, it has been a while since a new episode has been recorded, but they do have 20 episodes which you can catch up on.

Black Girl in Om

A podcasts which talks a lot about self care, meditation practice – it is so up my alley! My favourite episode featured Brittany Josephina.

Another Round

Another Round

Another Round is a fun podcast hosted by Heben and Tracy, they usually have guests whom they interview. It definitely feels like chilling with friends. There are definitely a lot of laugh out loud moments.

So those are my favourite podcasts, I’ve just realised that all these podcasts are hosted by women, lol – so not intentional. Which podcasts do you listen to on a regular basis?
