It’s the end of February when I’m writing this post, I’m sitting on my bed in Durban, South African. But, by the time you read it I will (hopefully) be in the land of Down Under, also known as Australia! In the past when I travel overseas I always have 1 or 2 items that are must-buys, the rest I just buy as I go along – this method hasn’t served me well because I always end up over spending (always!). You see it’s hard to control yourself when faced with numerous products that aren’t available in South Africa. So for this trip I decided to try out the wish list method and carefully think about what I want to buy before I even get on that plane, here’s to hoping it works out
So my Australia wishlist has a lot of items; I’m certainly not planning to get everything on this list though lordt knows I would love to! And for the first time in a while I’m not really focused on buying tons of makeup (except for Fenty Beauty of course). The list is by no means exhaustive – I have some bits and bobs that I will buy for my family that I haven’t added on here.
Skincare
I don’t need much in terms of skincare, I want some stuff from The Ordinary and I want to restock on sheet masks. From The Ordinary, I want some Vitamin C, Retinol & to restock on the peeling solution.
Makeup
All I wanna say is… Rihanna take all my money! yonke! Since I was last at a Sephora, Fenty Beauty has launched more complexion and lip products, these are my favourite types of their products tbh. I want to buy the concealer, primer, powder and the new lip paints. I’m unsure on whether I should repurchase the foundation in 410 (I own 390 and 410) or buy the Nars Sheer Glow. The Nars one is quite expensive though – so I need to make some tough decisions there. I want to buy the Maybelline Tattoo Brow in the shade dark brown.
Fragrance
Would you believe me if I told you that I last bought a perfume in November 2016? And I use that one every single day! I want to get my perfume collection going, so I’m also planning to buy a perfume probably at Duty Free.
Tech
I need a new camera for my blogging and blogging … Any suggestions. Nothing too expensive <R5000 … Or am I being too optimistic

Buying a G7X has been swirling in my mind for a few weeks now. It didn’t help that I filmed a video with Muthoni and we used her G7X and the quality was out of this world! Upon researching prices, it costs around ~R7600 in Aus (about R1500 cheaper than in SA) and I can probably get a 10% refund on the GST (similar to VAT in South Africa) so it will end up being so much cheaper. Look at me trying to make a business case for this camera! lol! We’ll see.
Accessories
I need a new wallet, the one I currently have is starting to look not so great. I’ve actually become that person who uses 1 wallet a time which is a change from a couple of years ago when I would interchange wallets on a regular basis.
Bits and bobs
In this category I’m keen on getting some stationery (weird, I know), but I’ve recently gotten into bullet journalling and I need to up my stationery game. I also will be getting some stuff for Mpilo.
What type of items are on your wishlist when you travel?
I need to do this when I travell. Great idea.
It really helped me so much
