Recently I’ve been sharing a lot about which skincare products I’ve bought, I’ve used up and those that I’m not using anymore but now I think it’s time to share exactly how I use those products. I’ll start off with my morning skincare routine and share which products I use and how I use them.
Cleansing and exfoliating
I rotate 2 products in this step: the Bioderma Purifying Foaming Gel and the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. I’ve written extensive reviews about these products so click on the link to find out more.
I follow up cleansing with a hydrating step, I use the Neutrogena HydroBoost Essence Lotion or I use The Body Shop Hydrating Toner – I apply this product using the 3 skins method.
My current morning treatments are the COSRX BHA Blackhead Power Liquid which is a BHA treatment or I use The Ordinary 100% L-Ascorbic Acid Powder which is a vitamin C treatment. The BHA Powerliquid is great for clearing out my pores and giving me an even skintone. L-Ascorbic also helps with reducing the appearance of signs of ageing and it brightens up my overall skintone.
I’m using the African Extracts Advantage Intensive Day Cream SPF 15. This moisturiser ticks all my boxes: absorbs well into the skin and does not leave me shiny.
I always feel like a broken record when talking about sun protection but it is sooo important in one’s morning skincare routine! Everyday! No excuses! I’m using my all time fave the Eucerin Sun Face Oil Control Dry Touch SPF 50.
As you can tell from my routine I have 2 or more products for each step, this is to just give myself some variety, it also gives me an opportunity to “listen” to my skin needs and work with that.
