Bedtime routines are not only for infants and toddlers (this has been my life for the past 27 months), adults can thrive off them too. Creating a routine creates a cue for your body to know that you’re winding down and about to get into bed. I know that if I have a good night’s sleep I wake up so much fresher and ready to take on the day. So I have been intentional about my bedtime routine and I’ve reaping the rewards.
My bedtime routine starts from the time that my daughter goes to sleep and I can finally have mommy time. I start off with changing into my pyjamas and doing my skincare routine. I love the process of taking off my makeup and cleansing my skin because it really marks the end of the day.
I move on to bed and bring out my bullet journal and I write in my gratitude, fill in my habit trackers and plan for the next day. The one thing that has really changed my bedtime routine is this next step: I either read a book or I listen to an audiobook (with a sleep timer), I used to be on my phone just before falling asleep and found that it took forever for me to wind down. Reading before bed has made my transition to la la land so much easier. On some nights I have a cup of herbal tea while I’m reading my book and this also helps me to relax.
The cornerstone of a good night’s sleep is a good mattress. That’s why Sealy has been the mattress and base set brand of choice for many people. Sealy has recently revealed their redesigned and refreshed mattress and base sets, all equipped with Sealy’s exclusive Posturepedic Technology.
What is Posturepedic Technology you ask? Well…
“Developed in cooperation with orthopaedic surgeons, Sealy Posturepedic Technology delivers exceptional support and comfort, providing back and body alignment to ensure a comfortable, healthy night’s sleep. While you sleep, different parts of your body need different levels of support, and Sealy Posturepedic Technology is designed to provide zoned support where it’s needed most.
The word “posturepedic” is a contraction of the words “Posture” and “Orthopaedic”, with paedic being the medically correct position of the skeletal and associated structures of the body. A bed with orthopaedically correct design correctly supports the muscles to relax and pressure points are relieved to minimise the body’s need to toss and turn during sleep.”
With Sealy’s new design you will be guaranteed a comfortable and healthy night’s sleep.
