It’s been a while since I shared a home project with you guys and it’s way overdue. I needed to add some fuss free greenery to my bedside table and I needed a vase. Instead of buying one, like I had set out to do initially, I decided instead to make this simple & cheap DIY vase. It has added a lovely touch to my bedside table and I’m even more proud because I made it myself.
I made this copper pipe clothing rack recently and you guys have been asking me how I made it. I love this piece, it has added such a flair to my bedroom and it looks so stylish. I tried vlogging the process but it was quite tricky and I had bought some wrong parts and I had to go back to Builder’s Warehouse to exchange so it the whole process ended up being long so I didn’t carry on with the vlog! However, I do think that this tutorial will be sufficient for you guys to be able to do it. View Post
There is nothing better than arriving home to a beautifully smelling house, or whilst relaxing enjoying a fresh scent. I love to keep my house smelling lovely and the types of scents change with my mood and the seasons. The different ways in which I use to bring fragrance are also different. Here are some of my current favourite ways to keep my house smelling lovely.
I love a great smelling room and I use various methods to keep the rooms in my house smelling fresh. One of the things I used is potpourri which I make myself. I’ve had some homemade DIY potpourri in my house for about 18 months now, it’s been sitting pretty in my lounge for all that time. Coming back home last week, the lady who cleans my house clearly decided that she’s had enough of it and she threw it out and cleaned out the glass bowl which I kept it in. I took her hint loud and clear and decided to make a fresh batch and I documented the process for anyone who is interested in making potpourri. View Post
If you are in the blogging world, I am sure you have seen that the marble backdrop is all the rage in product pictures especially flat lays. I really loved how this backdrop looked and I knew I wanted to make one for myself. I’m sure you guys agree that it bring a certain ‘clean’ feel to product pictures. So one weekend I set out to make one for myself. It wasn’t hard at all to make, the hardest part was finding the supplies in Durban. Once you have those, everything is a breeze. View Post
So from earlier this year I have been attending weekly meditation classes hosted at a Buddhist centre close to my house. I enjoyed the teachings and the practice of meditation that I undertook to have a meditation session every day. I have been doing these meditations in various areas of my house: on the bed, couch etc. Eventually, I figured that this is not working out for me and I needed to make myself a dedicated meditation/quiet corner where I can do my readings, meditations and have some away time.
