I would like to think I have perfected my wash day process when my hair is under a weave as a protective style. This is mostly thanks to the countless YouTube videos I have watched and a lot of trial and error on my part. The process I follow is simple and takes less time than a normal wash day when I have my hair out.
I decided to give my weave some TLC over the weekend since I had been so terrible at moisturising regularly in the past 2 weeks, I only managed to do 1 scalp massage during this time :(. It was a classic case of forgetting my hair once it was hidden in a protective style. I promise to do better in the future.
I have come across 2 JBCO brands in South Africa that I can buy off the shelf and I thought to feature them on the blog. As far as I know, and I stand to be corrected, the only JBCO brand available online (other than these 2) is the Sunny Isle one. So what I like about these ones is that they can be bought off the shelf. As much as I love online shopping, there is something about being able to handle a product in your hands, read the labels before buying it.
Update 13 December 2016… After getting numerous emails asking me if I sell hair products; I want to state here that I do not sell any hair products, accessorries, extensions, jamaican black castor oil etc. I’m a blogger sharing my hair journey. I also do not know where you can find hair products in towns/cities where I do not live. I can help you with regards to finding products in Durban.
I want to profile hair products that I recently bought and I used for the first time on my last wash day. The brand is called AfroBotanics and is a proudly South African brand. They have 5 products in their range, I have 3 of the products. Just for transparency, I had originally bought 1 of the products, but there was a mix up with my delivery and when I alerted the owner, she sent me an extra 2 products to make up for the mix up. Anyway, lets get into it.
