I have been quite good lately with buying hair products – this month I only bought 2 which I really needed, that’s a successful month in my books.

I picked up the LOreal Paris Elvive Total Repair 5 Masque with Restoring Serum –  I have been seeing this a lot around the international blogs, people love it because it contains ceramides which are good for your hair. I paid R53 for this 300ml tub . It does not have the same ingredients as the US or UK versions – but I still thought it was worth buying. The product is thick in consistency and has a very strong perfume smell. I have used it as a prepoo and the fragrance lingered around even after I had rinsed out my deep conditioner.

I also picked up Aunty Jackie’s Knot on my Watch Instant Detangling Therapy in anticipation for my braids take down, since my last protective style left me with matted hair, I am hoping that this will do the trick. One of my natural hair friends uses this already and she is always gushing about it – so I am confident in its capabilities, especially since I will be over 12 weeks post when I take down my braids. I bought it for R36 for a 177ml bottle. It has a lovely fruity smell, the it is so yummy that I will have to really stop myself from tasting it *eek*, I can’t wait to use it!

Any hair products that you bought this month and are excited about?

I need to try this. My TEXLAXED hair literally knots into fat locs whenever I reach 10+ weeks post so I really need a good detangler so I can stretch my relaxers without protective styling. Looking forward to the review 🙂

I have been struggling with tangles as well after I take down braids or weaves – so I can’t wait to try this detangler out then – if it passes that test then it’s a definite keeper!
