I have been lazy with regards to wash days lately, I last properly washed my hair 2 weeks ago – I did do a co-wash last week Wednesday because I needed to change my hair style from the perm rods look.
I was invited to attend Parliament a couple of weeks ago – so I really needed to have my hair looking good, so I decided to do a co-wash and a re-stlye on Wednesday. I followed the same routine as a normal wash day, but instead of using shampoo, I used the Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Moisturising Conditioner. I used The BodyShop Banana Conditioner for instant conditioning and the Dabur Vatika Intensive Nourishment Conditioner mixed with castor oil as a DC. I managed to use the last bits of the instant conditioner and the DC *whoop whoop* – more products in my empties stash. I put my hair in 8 flexi-rods and kept them overnight. In the morning, I took them out and created a pinned wavy look for the day. I took some pictures when I got home in the evening.
For this wash day, I wanted to do the TWA look again because I had an event filled weekend and I wanted to look extra cute ;). I am also aiming to use up the products in my stash that are nearly running out, so my normal wash day routine will be a bit mixed up for the next few weeks.
Prepoo: Motions CPR Triple Action Leave-In Conditioner, 20 minutes with heat
Shampoo: My ever so faithful Aunt Jackie’s Oh So Clean Moisturising and Softening Shampoo
Instant conditioner: Watsons Repairing Treatment Conditioner with Argan Oil – I let the product sit in my hair for about 5 minutes
Deep Conditioner: Carebeau Beer and Egg Yolk Hair Treatment Wax mixed with castor oil – I DCed over night. This conditioner does not do much to my hair – I am working on finishing it now. I will be mixing it with glycerine the next time I use it
In the morning, I rinsed out the DC and t-shirt dried my hair for 10 minutes and applied some coconut oil
Leave-Ins: Beautiful Textures Tangle Taming Leave-in Conditioner and I detangled in sections using a wide toothed comb
M&S: AfroBotanics Conditioning Moisturiser – I then blow dried my hair using the tension method and warm air. I then sealed with olive oil. I got too lazy to do the perm rods, so I wore my hair out during the day and put it in a doughnut bun in the evening.
I am really at a point where I don’t know what to do with my hair at the moment, ideally I should be putting it in a protective style in prep for the colder winter months, but I am just not inspired. I will just go with the flow at the moment and see where that leads me.
How did your last wash day go?
You gave flexi rods another go!!! and how did that go???
did you like the co wash results??/
I did Lebo, but only about 8 to create a bit of wavy-ness.
I love co-washing! pity that I don’t do it too often
Your wavy look from the flexi rods is pretty! and your hair looks healthy!
Thanks Becca 🙂
ooo a parliament visit! how exciting. Your wavy style looks lovely. Hope you use up your products soon, I so need to do the same.
Thanks Peechy. Downsizing a hair products stash takes some time, but we’ll get there.
Love the health of your hair, the shine is amazing!
