Hey everybody! We are officially half way through the year *whoop*

I don’t have a monthly favourites post for this month. I haven’t been doing much to my hair or to my face for any one product to stand out as a winner. So instead I have a list of my favourite products.

Here are my top 5 haircare products, those that I would take on a deserted island if I ever get stranded *how would I find time to pack hair care stuff if I was going to be deserted on an island* I hear you ask. OK, let’s start again; these are the products that I will climb the highest mountain, swim the deepest most shark infested ocean to find. For real, for real: these are my faves, I use them regularly and they always give me good and consistent results – I swear by them and recommend them to anyone who cares to listen. image
1. Joico K-Pak Intense Hydrator – I have raved about this conditioner. It sinks into my hait and my hair feels like butter after rinsing it out. Looove this product. Only down side is that it’s hella expensive. I might just have to starve myself to afford it after this one finishes. *joking*, *not joking*
2. Coconut Oil – my holy grail of oils. I use this mostly for my pre-poo. I also apply it to my hair after my DC. I go through these 400ml bottles like no-ones business because I also use it on my skin daily. I have been contemplating buying the 1L.
3. Aunt Jackie’s Knot on my Watch Instant Detangling Therapy– this is magic to my knots. I use it when I am undoing my braids or going through my knots/tangles when I am 15 weeks post wash day. It’s a definite must in my stash.
4. AfroBotanics Repairing & Strengthening Treatment – I love this stuff, its comparable to the Aphogee Keratin Two Minute Reconstructor, the bonus is that it is cheaper and you can get it easily in SA. Some of the reasons I love it is that I feel like my hair doesn’t need a moisturing treatment afterwards and this saves me time and a bit of money *ka-ching*.          5. Perm Rods – I love styling my hair using perm rods, I like that they From Shoulder Length to TWA. The biggest advantage with them is that they don’t hurt to sleep in and they can be installed pretty easily. I just need to figure out how to preserve the curls longer than 2 days and I will be set!

There it is, my faves. Which are your favourite hair care products?

That’s great that the Joico actually work well on your hair. Imagine if it didn’t, after spending so much on it. You’re making my hands itch and tempted to get lol!

  2. LOL @starving yourself for Joico… I usually say that imagine if we had to buy these things on a monthly…

    Hi Lungi

Where can I get aunt Jackie’s Knot on my Watch Instant Detangling Therapy?

Hi Gugu, I’ve heard that they sell it at Clicks, you can try checking at a Cash n Carry near you. Else mzansifro.co.za stocks it.
