If you are in the blogging world, I am sure you have seen that the marble backdrop is all the rage in product pictures especially flat lays. I really loved how this backdrop looked and I knew I wanted to make one for myself. I’m sure you guys agree that it bring a certain ‘clean’ feel to product pictures. So one weekend I set out to make one for myself. It wasn’t hard at all to make, the hardest part was finding the supplies in Durban. Once you have those, everything is a breeze.
So I will write down the supplies on this blog post, I shot a video of the process because it’s hard to explain and it’s much better to watch.
DIY Marble Backdrop
Supplies[su_list icon=”icon: bullseye” icon_color=”#f2004c”]
- Foam board (you can also find it at Waltons, it’s a bit more expensive there)
- Contact paper
- Scissors
- Cloth

Just a note, the contact paper can be found in the bathroom accessories aisle at Makro. I walked around the whole shop and had a few sales assistants trying to help me find it when I went to buy it 🙂
Really helpful video, thank you Lungi!
A marble backdrop is on my to-do list, and I’d been thinking I could cover wood with it, but foam board is obviously a lighter, and cheaper alternative.
Thank you!
Awesome! Glad I could help
I’ve already placed my order on Makro. Collecting tomorrow, lol! Thoroughly enjoyed the vid and found it to be so helpful!
