There is nothing better than arriving home to a beautifully smelling house, or whilst relaxing enjoying a fresh scent. I love to keep my house smelling lovely and the types of scents change with my mood and the seasons. The different ways in which I use to bring fragrance are also different. Here are some of my current favourite ways to keep my house smelling lovely.

Candles The easiest way to fill your house with beautiful scents. I love lighting candles; I usually light it up before going to shower, either in the morning or evening and let the scent fill the bedroom.

Incense I light incense when I need to relax, I especially love lavender incense for that. In the summer, I use citronella incense to keep away mosquitoes – it’s a great natural insect repellent instead of having to use chemical laden insect creams.

Oil Burner I use my oil burner in 2 ways for making my home smell nice. I either use it with an essential oil or with a wax melt. One thing I need to do though is to get an electric burner, I get lazy to change the candle which is why I don’t really use it that much.

Diffuser These are great because they are long lasting; and all you need to do is to change over the bamboo sticks ever so often. They are available in a variety of scents and you are bound to find one that tickles your fancy.

Potpourri I make my own potpourri using dried flowers, the flowers also have their own scent but I add essential oils now and again to take it to that next level.

Essential Oil This is a versatile product to home scents; I use it in my homemade potpourri (I add a few drops a week of my favourite essential oil). I also use it in my oil burner.
