I finally became a mom on the 8th of March to a beautiful baby girl. As I write this, she is lying here next to me fighting the urge to fall asleep, lol! That’s one thing I am failing to understand about newborns – why fight the urge to sleep when you are sleepy??? sigh! Motherhood has been a massive learning curve, I only now (5 weeks later) feel like I am getting some sort of hang to it. However, just as I feel like I have figured her out, she switches it up on me and does the complete opposite and leaves me more confused than ever!
I managed in the little free time that I had to film a video sharing a bit about my labour story and how it feels to be a new mom. I hope you guys enjoy it! Baby girl does make a cameo appearance in the video :).
Aww, how cute! Congratulations on being a new Mommy! Yes, nothing actually prepares you enough for life after baby but it is nonetheless a beautiful experience. So excited for you.
Thank you Diapeng! π
I was sure you were going to have a boy, lol your tummy was way too big (hope it’s okay for me to say that.) Anyhow I wish you had given us a sneak peek of her face but I understand.
LABOUR! I never ever want to feel that kind of pain again. Funny enough, with my first, labour was a breeze. However my second was a nightmare. I honestly felt like I was going to die, there was no time for pain relief lol, baby boy wanted to see the world.
Don’t worry though, you’ll settle well into mother hood. It’ll come naturally. Believe me at times you’ll shock yourself at how well you adjust.
Thank you for the kind works Ika, I have found myself becoming more and more confident as each day goes by.
It’s crazy how unpredictable labour can be, I’ve heard that it’s much easier when it’s the second time around but clearly that is not true for everyone based on your experience.
I’ll show her face soon π
CONGRATULATIONS siste, I think you’ve taken like a fish in the water to being a mom. If you think she’s switching up things now wait until she realises she can use cries to make you panic-then you’ll be in for it. Lol
Thanks sis! LOL! please don’t scare me – I’ll send her to your house when she starts pulling those tricks
Congrats Lungi.
Read as many books as you can to learn a lot. Motherhood I hear is super exciting!
Thank you Joie. Books, Google and Mom forums are where I spend most of my time, there is so much to learn in motherhood.
I’m a blogger/youtube Aunty. Congrats babes. Hoping you’re enjoying motherhood
