I am totally in love with my evening skincare routine, I love the feeling of taking off makeup and nourishing my skin with yummy products to help it rejuvenate during the night. I have kept a consistent skincare routine for over a year, the only things that had changed are the products that I have used and the introduction of serums from about September last year. As expensive as they are, I feel like serums have helped my skin tremendously, I am a bit obsessed with them. Read further to find out the other products that I use in my evening skincare routine.
As a recovering acne sufferer, my main skin concerns are pigmentation and an uneven skintone and thus I tend to lean towards using products that can clear out these concerns. I have to add that I used dermatologist prescribed medication to help rid of my acne and once that was done, I moved on to the more cosmetological products. If you are an acne sufferer, I definitely recommend seeing a dermatologist.
The products that I am currently using are
Cleansing I use the Dudu Osun black soap, I am about to run out and I will be switching to using a cleanser from Glam Glow
Makeup remover To ensure that all the makeup is removed from my face I use the Neutrogena HydroBoost Micellar Water – I prefer using micellar water after I cleanse to remove makeup that might be left on my skin. I find that it works better for me this way.
Serums I am currently using 2 serums: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector and Optimizer. The Estee Lauder serum is just about done, even though I love it to bits and have nothing but good things to say about it, I will not be replacing it for now. I was recently gifted a Vitamin C serum so I want to try that for a while and see how my skin likes it.
Moisturiser I am using a sample size of the Clinique Moisture Surge, I am in the market for a good night time moisturiser. Since I haven’t found what I am looking for, I am using up this sample – do you guys have any recommendations for good night creams?
Oil I love sealing off all the goodness using an oil – I have been using the SOiL rosehip oil since February 2016; I had to stop using it while I was pregnant just as a precaution on my side. I love rosehip oil for the face because it is a natural source for Vitamin A which is very good for skin renewal.
Mask I love a good mask and I aim to use them on my face twice a week; one of the masks that I currently use is the Amazonian Acai Energising Radiance mask from The Body Shop.
I filmed a video of my evening skincare routine where I show how I use these products and also show how and what I use to remove my makeup. Enjoy!
