I am attending a hair event in Durban this coming weekend – I am keen to see what they have in store for us as this is the first hair event I will be attending. When I found out that there is going to be a hair products swap booth at the event I was so happy because I really need to get rid of some hair products. One of my goals for last year was to find my staple hair products and stick to using them, I was really over being a product junkie. To this end, I have a few products in my stash that I have either bought or were sent to me that weren’t really working for me and these are the ones that I am giving away.

I am not saying that these are bad products, some of them didn’t work for me, and some are like a duplicate of a ride or die product which I already use and thus there isn’t space for them in my stash.

hair products for 4c hair south africa

Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie I had always lusted after Shea Moisture products since starting on this hair journey, 5 years ago they were the holy grail of hair products! I bought this product on one of my international hauls, and to be honest, I have only used it 3-4 times and it was just meh. Shea Moisture products are now available in SA at Clicks, but the prices are quite high, I really don’t see myself buying an product from this brand.

Dark & Lovely Au Naturale I received this range when I attended the launch last year September. There isn’t space in my stash for the Afro Moisturising Butter and the Plaiting Pudding Cream – I have other products that I use that are better than these 2.

Oh So Heavenly – Love Your Colour Shampoo & Conditioner I received these sample size products in a goodie bag from an event that I attended last year, I haven’t been drawn to using them – so they gots to go.

Tresemme Botanique Shampoo Another product that I received at the product launch, I’ve used it once just to get a first impression of the product – it didn’t knock my socks off, so I am giving it away.

Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo & Conditioner I received these at the launch of the new Dove range, I’ve never been drawn to Dove’s haircare products, I’ve always felt that they aren’t really formulated for natural hair like mine. I’m still not 100% sure if I’m going to give the conditioner from this range away, it’s small enough for use for 2 uses, so I might just keep it, but the shampoo is definitely going.

The Curl Company Styling Creme Gel Another product which I did like using but has been replaced with the EcoStyler gel, to be honest though – I do not use gel on my hair too often.

ElastaQP Olive Oil and Mango Butter Leave-In Conditioner (not pictured) This was the second time I bought this product, the first tub that I bought was nearly finished. However, I’m not really into this product anymore – I just lost the love. So this is a new, never been used tub of ElastaQP.

I definitely will not be picking up as many products as I giveaway at the swap – this will defeat the purpose of actually decreasing my product stash. I will be doing a haircare products post soon to show you guys the current hair products that I have – this will include the ones I might pick up at the event on Saturday.

Girl what the tea on the plaiting cream? which brand does a better job? I’m a creature of habit myself, once i fing something that works, i stick with it. Im so sad ORS replenishing conditioner seem to be getting harder and harder to come by on my side because its the one conditioner i can trust to restore moisture to my hair even after using a harsh shampoo

I’m using the Design Essentials Curl Stretching Cream – it’s been working wonders for me for the past year. I am striving to be a creature of habit too when it comes to my hair. I also love the ORS conditioner, it is life giving – you better stockpile it when you find it.
