I washed my hair this past weekend and I used some new products that I have in my stash and I thought to do a first impressions on the deep conditioner that I used. This conditioner is a recent purchase; I bought it at the Fro Fiesta event that I attended a month ago. Read on to find out what I thought of this product.

Name The Perfect Curl Deep-Deep Conditioner

Price R199 for 250 ml

What they say Cashmere croteins (*not a typo) moisturize from within, penetrating the hair shaft to strengthen hair for a softer, smoother feel. Perfect, naturally.

Ingredients Aqua, Glycerin, Crambe Abyssinica Oil, Cocos Nucifera Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate, Riccinus Communis Seed Oil, Stearalkonium Chloride, Cetyl Alcihol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Argania Spinosa Oil, Olea Europaea Oil, Panthenol, Cassia Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Hydrolyzed Keratin (Cashmere), Ceteareth-20, Tocopherol Acetate, Hydroxyacetic Acid, Parfum, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Methylisothiazolinone.

How to use Use weekly for an intense conditioning curl bath, apply liberally and leave on overnight or for 20 minutes.

How I used it I applied it after rinsing off the shampoo off my hair. I covered my hair with a shower cap and sat under a heating cap for 20 minutes. I then put on a satin bonnet and left the product on overnight. I rinsed it off first thing in the morning.

My thoughts After rinsing off,  my hair felt soft and was springy. My hair felt like it got a balance of moisture and strength after using this conditioner.  I feel like it is great for weekly use as it has both moisture & protein properties, so when your hair needs a both of both – this conditioner is your jam.

I was worried about the amount of the product in comparison to the price I paid. At first glance, I thought that I was going to get a maximum of 4 uses. While applying it, I realised that a little goes a long way, I barely made a dent in the product. After using it I think I might get about 6 uses out of it. I will update this post once I have used up the product. If I manage to get 6 uses out of it then it will be worth the price. Lastly, I love that it’s in a glass container, this makes the product look and feel sleek.

Worth the purchase? I must say though that the price is a bit steep at R199 for 250ml – it’s definitely on the higher end of the scale. I am going to carry on using this conditioner, I’ll be adding it to my current rotation of conditioners for my wash days..

If you are in Durban, The Perfect Hair products will soon be stocked at Edgar’s at The Pavilion and at La Lucia Mall. I’m excited about that because I really like and prefer buying hair products off the shelf.

A bit steep indeed but sounds like it’s worth the purchse. Will try to get it and give it a try.
