I wear makeup from Monday to Thursday during the work week; Friday is my off day :). I try to stick to a simple formula when it comes to my everyday face, I try not to be too experimental in the interest of time. Because of this I pretty much use the same tools to apply my makeup for work purposes. In this post I am sharing some of the brushes that I use, I also try to have backup brushes because I don’t wash my brushes as regularly as I should – so if one is dirty I like have another one that does the same job that I can use.

Currently my eye looks are pretty simple, I use 4 eyeshadows to achieve it, I just change the eyeshadow colours depending on the type of look that I want to go for.

My go to eye brushes are, from L to R:

ELF flat shadow brush – I use this to apply eyeshadow on my eyelid.

Cala concealer brush – this brush I use to apply concealer to the underneath my eyebrow to enhance and cleanup the area.

Clarins pencil brush – this brush is connected to a pencil on the other side but the brush part is perfect for that inner corner highlight.

Beautique crease brush – I use this brush to apply my face powder all over my eye to set the primer and to create an even base for all the eyeshadows.

Swiitch Beauty brush – the brush is used to apply my crease colour – for my everyday eye look I usually use the same colour to deepen the outer v of my eye.

Spoolie – this is to neaten up and brush my eyebrows into shape before and after applying brow product which is usually a brow pencil for my everyday look.

Face makeup brushes

I am a fan of the Real Techniques face brushes, they are very good quality and very kind to the pocket. From L to R, the face brushes that I use for my everyday look are:

Real Techniques Powder brush – to apply powder all over my face to set my foundation

Real Techniques blush brush – to apply blush

Signature Angled brush – I use this brush to contour, I like the shape because it helps me get into the hollows of my cheeks.

Real Techniques Setting brush – the best highlighter brush hands down, it places the highlighter exactly where I want it and is much more precise than a fan brush which I used previously.

Real Techniques Miracle Sponge – I dampen this sponge and use it to apply foundation – I have been leaning towards using sponges lately for foundation application, I love the finish that it gives.
