Fenty Beauty took the makeup world by storm when they launched in September 2017 and of course I was drooling at all the products and needed to get my hands on them. I have built up my Fenty collection a bit since I bought the foundation last year. In this post I will be sharing my collection and doing a mini review on each product.
How I managed to buy the products
My first foundation I bought via a friend who was travelling to the US in October 2017. The second haul I bought at a Sephora in Bangkok when I was there in March 2018. It was so awesome seeing the actual stand for myself and being able to pick out the products I wanted. It is possible to buy Fenty Beauty products in South Africa from makeup resellers but I have never been keen on doing that, the markup that is put on the products scares me away.
*it’s no secret that I love all the Fenty Beauty products that I own, I am yet to be disappointed by the brand.
I own the ProFilt’R Instant Retouch Primer – this is the only primer that I have been using recently. I love it because it is more like a lotion which leaves a slightly tacky feeling after it is applied. The think I love most about it is the texture because I really do not like silicone based primers that leave a “slippery” feel to the skin.
I have the Pro Filt’R Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in shades 390 and 410. I bought shade 410 first and even though it was a good match for my skin I also though that 390 would work well and it does. I love this foundation because it is like my skin, only better. I will definitely keep on re-purchasing it. If you want to shade match with me, you can read this foundation collection post where I list all the other foundations that I use.
I had been looking for a stick form creamy contour product and the Match Stix Matte Skinstick in Truffle was exactly what I was looking for. I love this shade because it is neutral so it doesn’t come across as too warm or too cool. The stick form is so easy to use, however I do find that I have to blend super quickly because this product does dry down fast.
The Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer is ah-mazing! I’m not usually a gloss girl because I do not like the stickiness of glosses but this product is not sticky at all! That is literally one of my favourite things about it and that it smells sooo good.
Me and red lipstick have a love-hate relationship – but I am not mad at the Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored. It is a very vibrant red which is super out there. I love it’s applicator, it makes for such easy application. I’ve worn this one out a few times and I’ve definitely turned heads 🙂
One thing I appreciate about the Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick is the formula, it’s not overly matte and drying (side-eyes RubyWoo). The colour Clapback is so out of my comfort zone but I have enjoyed wearing it and stretching my boundaries. I haven’t worn Griselda yet, I am waiting until I can put together a perfect deep, sultry look in order to wear it.
