I am so excited to write this post, it is so surreal that the day is finally here. From the 1st of July I have started my side hustle as the cool kids call it – I’m a professional makeup artist, BeautybyLungi! This is something I have been wanting to do and kept pushing it aside for quite some time. I eventually decided to get my ducks in a row and launch my business once and for all.
I have been very fortunate to get tips and very good advice from fellow makeup artist, Yolanda – she has helped me out so much!
The name of my business is such an awesome extension of my online persona and I feel that it will be easily recognisable and it also fits in well with my brand (lol! I sound so fancy).
Self-taught or professional?
These days there are some damn good self taught makeup artists who are absolutely killing it, however I decided to get a qualification just so I can be able to call myself a professional makeup artist. I was keen on learning more about the theory of makeup so that I can arm myself with that knowledge. I do plan on taking more courses in the future so I can sharpen my skills and get better at what I do.
I am really so excited about this new venture in my life, I’ve had the pleasure of having 2 clients already and I can already tell that I am going to love doing this even though it is a lot of hard work!
I have a dedicated Instagram page for my business @beautybylungi – please support me by following me 🙂
