I have recently added 2 new concealer brands to my makeup collection, the: Maybelline Fit Me & Nars Radiant Creamy concealer. These 2 products have been said to be very similar, with the Maybelline one being a dupe of the Nars one. So I decided to use them side by side and share with you my thoughts on each so you can answer the question of whether you should splurge on the Nars one or if the Maybelline one does the same job.
Here are the details:
Nars Radiant Creamy
- Shade Caramel
- Price $30
- Volume 6 ml
Maybelline Fit Me
- Shade Caramel
- Price R110
- Volume 6.8 ml
I pitted the concealers against each other by using them to highlight my undereye area. For reference, the foundation I used on this day was the Black Opal True Color Pore Perfecting liquid foundation in Nutmeg and I set both concealers with the Laura Mercier Setting Powder in Translucent.
Application I preferred the application of the Maybelline concealer, the product has a creamier consistency and hence applies more smoother and has better spreadability.
Shade/Undertone On a normal day (when I’m not testing the product) I mix the 2 shades of the Nars concealers that I own (Caramel and Amande).I find that the undertones of the caramel shade by itself aren’t suited to what I like from a concealer. The Maybelline one of the other hand has the perfect undertones and the shade match is exactly what I want from a concealer.
Wear test Both concealers faired similarly on the wear test, I didn’t notice any creasing or any oiliness on my undereye area as the day progressed.
So there you have it on the maybelline fit me & nars radiant creamy comparison, the Maybelline one is the winner this time around just on the fact that it has a better undertone match. In saying that I really love the Nars concealer in the shade Amande, it is the perfect match with my skintone.
Saving my coin
Thanks this was so helpful. Do you think caramel in Maybelline is the match for amande?
Very helpful thank you ever so much. I currently use Nars rc concealer in caramel but I was hoping to find a cheaper option for when it runs out and this looks like it.
Glad the post could help 🙂 – thank you for reading
