I was in Dakar in Senegal recently and decided to go on a day trip to Ngor Island. The last time I was in Dakar we visited Goree Island, so I really wanted to check out another island this time around. It was a short afternoon trip, I had lunch, and lay on the beach while people watching. Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to walk around the island as much a I wanted to because my lunch lasted way longer than I had planned (I got chatting to some locals). I did enjoy the time that I spent and I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for a short getaway in Dakar.
I paid CFA 1000 for a round trip to get from the mainland to Ngor Island, the process is really easy, you find a guy who is selling the tickets, you buy one and then you find the guy with the life jackets and you exchange your ticket for a life jacket. Once you have your life jacket you then go to the shore to wait for the next boat out to the island.

There are 3 beaches on the island, 2 of them are right next to each other and the 3rd is on the other side of the island.
These handsome young men requested that I take a photo of them.
I visited on the island during the week and I was told that it was a quiet day and that it gets pretty packed during the weekend
Fun in the sun π
I must confess when I saw the notification for this post I sort of went to YT to check for a vlog!!!
Awww! it’s up now π
It looks so pretty, Lungi. The boat tho would have me a little anxious but ke you made it both ways. Really love your photography on this post.
I was so apprehensive of the boat as well especially when getting on it because it was rocking the whole time!
