collective empties…products I’ve used up

As a beauty lover – I buy a lot of products all the time so that’s why I love using up products and making a somewhat dent in my stash. I’ve been collecting these empties over the last couple of months since my last empties post here, here and here. I decided to make this a collective post that includes bath & body, hair and beauty empties so there is a lot of products. As per usual I’ll be doing a mini review on each product and let you know whether I’m going to repurchase or not.

Collective empties bath and body products

Bath & Body

Nivea Repair & Care Body Lotion* (R70) – this product was a godsent through the winter months, it is very moisturising and keeps my skin supple for the whole day. I would repurchase this moisturiser for the winter months.

Johnson’s Vita-Rich Smoothies Body Lotion w/Yogurt, Peach & Coconut* (R28) – the whole Smoothies range from Johnson’s is amazing, the range smells so good and it perfect for the spring/summer. On some days though I found that I didn’t get enough moisture using this product especially on my drier areas like my heels. I wouldn’t repurchase this body lotion. I am currently using the body butter from this range and I’m liking that more.

Johnson’s Vita-Rich Smoothies Body Wash w/Yogurt, Peach & Coconut and w/Yogurt, Honey & Oats* (R33) – These bodywashes were a winner for me – the scent is super yummy and they lather very well. I would repurchase the body washes.

Milk Solutions Grapefruit & Pomegranate Sugar Skin Scrub* – I honestly couldn’t wait for this product to finish, I’m not a fan of body scrubs at all I’d rather exfoliate my body using gloves. Just based on the fact that Idon’t like scrubs I won’t be repurchasing this product.

SkinbyNorma Five Oils Body Series Tissue Oil (R150) – I love this body oil, I use it in the winter months just after my evening shower while my skin is still damp. It is magical. I will definitely be repurchasing.

Collective empties hair products

Hair
Just to let you guys know, earlier this year the Clicks Curls event was held in Durban and if you know anything about that event, the goodie bag is filled with products! So just to put it out there, I won’t be repurchasing any of these hair products because I’ve got sooo much stuff to get through. I’m also at a point where I’m not fussy about the products I use on my hair, as long as they have “good” ingredients, I’m gucci.

Garnier Ultimates Blends Conditioner – The Nourishing Repairer (R60) – I love this conditioner, it softened my hair almost immediately and gives so much slip! I used it as an instant conditioner in my routine.

ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo (R105) – This shampoo has been a staple in my routine for a loooong time, I used it as a clarifying shampoo so when my hair is feeling coated from product or when after I hadn’t washed it for the long time

Design Essential Coconut & Monoi Coconut Water Curl Refresher* (R225) – Since discovering Design Essentials products a couple of years ago I fell in love, these products are super high quality and they work very well. This curl refresher was amazing to use when my hair was in a protective style.

Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Hair Masque* – This conditioner didn’t really impress me – it was just meh. Couple that with the fact that Shea Moisture products are ridiculously expensive in South Africa and that whole thing just leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Collective empties makeup and skincare products

Makeup & Skincare
I love having makeup empties because I always buy so much makeup and I never get a chance to finish anything, so I finish something you must know that I really loved it.

Catrice Rock Couture Extreme Volume Mascara (R80) – An all time faavourite mascara of mine, I love the wand and how it lengthens my lashes, I will always repurchase it.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick (LAX) ($6.50) – This lipstick didn’t really finish but Mpilo (my little girl) left it open and it dried out. It is such a beautiful, deep red, it’s a firm favourite of mine. I will repurchase on my next Colourpop haul.

2nd Love Brow Styler Mascara (R30) – This is such a great brow styler, I used it more on my no makeup days when I just want to make sure that my brows are put together. I will definitely be repurchasing.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Flawless Wear Concealer (5N Deep) (R415) – I loved using this concealer, I bought a shade that is similar to my skin tone. I used it more for concealing than for highlighting and I would then set it with my highlighting powder. As much as I loved this concealer I won’t be repurchasing it, the price is just too high, I’d rather add R250 and buy a foundation.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Hydrating Toner (R125) – A hydrating toner has been the cornerstone of my skincare routine and my journey to clearing my hyperpigmentation. I use this product in the morning and evening and I do the 3 skins method. I love it so much that I have already repurchased it.

Eucerin DermatoClean Refreshing Cleansing Gel (R144) – A gentle cleanser has also been a key product in my skincare routine and this one worked so well. I won’t be repurchasing it just because I want to try others in the market.

MAC Fix+ (R340) – A forever fave! I don’t have anything bad to say about Fix +. I have repurchased the coconut scented one just to try out a different variation.

Eucerin Sun Gel-Cream (R250) – Eucerin makes the best sunscreens for women of colour. Period! After doing some research I found that I wasn’t applying enough sunscreen to my face and I had to increase the quantity to a full pump of the product. Even then this product sinks into the skin and is not greasy at all. I have already repurchased it.

I really want to try out the Eucerin Sin Gel-cream. To think about this is the first I am reading about it

It’s a good sunscreen, especially if you have oily skin

Ok, how long your sun gel take to finish? I use mine daily and it seems like I’ve had it forever! Maybe I’m also not using enough..

It lasts for about 6 weeks. I use a pump worth at each application.
