I remember the day when I was introduced to blotting papers. I was out at an event with Dineo and my face had gotten shiny and I needed to remove some of the oil. So I did what I did usually… pulled out a facial tissue and than dabbed my face. This is when Dineo swooped in and handed me a piece of rice paper that I could use for blotting, I was amazed and since that day I have been converted. I’ve used a lot of blotting papers since that day and in this post I want to share the blotting papers I’ve used and whether you should spend money on expensive blotting papers or nah.

The current products I’m using are the Fenty Beauty Invisimatte Blotting Paper (R220) and the Hyaluronic Oil Absorbent Pads (~R30) from Miniso. I’ve also used the Palladio Rice Paper (R70).

To be honest there is not a major difference between the high end and low end blotting papers, they all work the same in my opinion. One thing I love with the Fenty Beauty one is that the container has a mirror so that makes it convenient, but the width of the paper is small so that makes it tricky. The blotting papers from Miniso are great as well, I haven’t seen the difference with the hyaluronic acid so that’s not really a selling point. After using the aforesaid products I won’t be repurchasing the Palladio Rice Paper because it left residue on my skin after using it for blotting.

So to sum it all up, you don’t need to spend more money buying high end blotting papers, I don’t think they offer anything extra. So happy saving!
