As someone who has a loooot of products of every sort (that I’ve bought and some that have been sent to me) it’s an awesome feeling when I use up a product. In this post I’ll be sharing my latest empties covering body -, skincare, make up and hair products, the last of these posts was in October 2018. I’m so happy now that I can throw away all these empty containers that have been gathering dust under my vanity!

BODY

I go through body lotions and shower gels like a mad woman! I typically love fruity and sweet smelling body products and I want them to be quite rich, no-one wants to have ashy skin!

Johnson’s Vita-Rich Smoothies Range Indulging Body Wash and Comforting Body Cream Can you guys tell how much I love this range? I attended the launch of the Smoothies range in Cape Town last year and I really fell in love with the products – I always have one of the body washes in my shower. I’ll definitely keep on purchasing these products, I’m in love!

Nivea Sea Minerals Intensive Moisturising Body Cream This was a great lotion: easy to apply, long lasting moisturisation and smells great. I would repurchase.

Woolworths Fresh Delights Watermelon Shower Gel Aaahh! don’t get me started on the smell of this range, it is amazing. My shower gets filled with the sweet scent of watermelon when I use this. I will definitely repurchase.

*Loving Touch Sensitive Shave Gel This was the first shaving gel that I ever used and it got me hooked into using them for every shave. I couldn’t repurchase this product because it seems like it is out of stock everywhere. I bought another brand instead.

Pure Beginnings Eco Roll On I am a natural deodorant convert, I’ve been using them for the past 2.5 years and I don’t see myself going back. I have already repurchased this one.

Clinique Aromatic in Black Fragrance (travel size) This perfume was awesome for travelling because of its size. I don’t have to pack my full size perfumes which might be stolen from my luggage at the airport. I am currently looking for a replacement.

SKINCARE

L’Oreal Hydra Genius Aloe Water Moisturiser I loved this moisturiser, it had a gel formula and provided the right amount of hydration to my face. I will be repurchasing the next time I travel (unfortunately this product is only available at the Duty Free shop at King Shaka and OR Tambo airports)

Boots Micellar Water with Soothing Aloe Vera Another international product that I bought at Dubai airport. When it comes to micellar water, all I need is for the product to be gentle and non-drying. This ticked both those boxes. I won’t be repurchasing

Clicks Skin Essentials Facial Wipes I know that makeup wipes are a bit of a point of contention in the beauty world but I love using them, read all about my makeup removal process here and a small IG video here. I have already repurchased them.

Eucerin Sun-Gel Cream Dry Touch SPF50+ My all time love! Need I say more? I have a whole post about sunscreen for black women here. I have already repurchased 2 because they were on special at Dischem.

Miniso Hydration Booster Facial Cleanser I enjoyed using this cleanser it was creamy and was foamy without stripping my skin. I would repurchase.

Miniso Hydration Booster Serum I don’t think that this serum did much to my skin and thus I won’t be repurchasing.

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter The love of my life! I love this product as a cleansing balm for makeup removal. I’m currently using the Clean in Zero from Banila Co so I won’t be repurchasing this one as yet.

The Ordinary Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10% I loved using this Vitamin C product, it did do what it claimed (brightened up my skin). I will not repurchase it as I am trying out another Vitamin C product from The Ordinary.

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant (travel size) Another firm favourite in my life. I have since bought the normal size.

MAKEUP

I’m currently on a no makeup buying stance for the remainder of 2019 and it’s been going so well -I’m so happy with myself. I love that I have some makeup empties here because it means that my stash is decreasing!

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Instant Retouch Primer This is the only primer I’ve been using for most of 2018 and all of 2019. I have repurchased it already.

Smashbox Photo Finish Lid Primer I honestly didn’t see the benefit of this product I find that concealer does the same job so I didn’t have to spend extra money on this. I will not repurchase.

Woolworths Volume Mascara The worst mascara I’ve ever used! I didn’t even finish using it, it was so disappointing. I could hardly get any product to stick to my eyelashes and that little product that did stick ended up being transferred all over my lid. Not ever repurchasing.

Essence Lash Princess Mascara A forever fave! I love this mascara, the only one that comes close to this is the Rock Couture from Catrice. I’ve already repurchased it.

Avon True Colour Glimmerstick Brow Definer This brow pencil was mediocre in my view, the pencil thickness was more than what I like for brow pencils, it was more like an eyeliner. I won’t be repurchasing.

NYX Micro Brow Pencil – Espresso Honestly I didn’t see anything wow regarding this pencil, it performs just as well as the LA Girl one but it’s at a higher price. I will not be repurchasing.

LA Girl Shady Slim Brow Pencil – Blackest Brown & Espresso One of my favourite affordable eyebrow pencils. I usually buy the shade Blackest Brown but this time I also bought Espresso which was a tad bit too light for me. I will be repurchasing Blackest Brown from here on out.

ColourPop Lippie Pencil – BFF3 A forever fave lip pencil, it is so creamy and matches my skintone perfectly. I love it so much it was one of my favourite products for 2018. I have already repurchased 2 more.

HAIR

I can’t remember the last time I finished a hair product! I don’t wash my hair as regularly as I used to in my hair hey day and in spite of giving away so many hair products I still have so many! There is only one that I have used to the end.

Brazilian Hair Grow Oil I normally like using pure oils on my hair and decided to try this one out because it was sent to me. I honestly wasn’t a fan – I didn’t like the fact that it had so many other ingredients in there when all I wanted was castor or coconut oil. The smell was also very strong. I won’t be purchasing it.

That was a long post! Congratulations on making it to the end!

Have you used any products that I’ve used up?
