A lot has changed since I last posted about my favourite podcasts 3 years ago – podcasting has really taken off and the game has totally changed (for the better). I have a eclectic taste of podcasts ranging from talk show types, interviews, women chatting about life and more recently I have fallen in love with true life crime.
The Receipts Podcast
This podcast is by 3 girls from London who basically talk about their lives, pop culture and giving their opinions on certain situations. In other episodes they give advice to listener letters. I love how open the girls are to talking about their lives – they are so open.
The Read
One of my all time faves! This podcast is hosted by Kid Fury and Crissle and each week they discuss pop culture news, answer listener letters and read trifling people for filth! I literally laugh out loud when I listen to this show and some moments are so good that I listen to them over and over.
Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversation
I have loved Oprah since since! I can watch every interview that she does – she is the OG interviewer! This podcast features Oprah interviewing different and interesting guests. I love that I learn so much with each episode and I feel like I’m a better person each time I listen to an episode.
Casefile True Crime
I was introduced to True Crime podcasts by fellow blogger Camilla and I was immediately hooked. I’m so surprised that I like this podcast because it is so sordid and dark. The premise is a narrator taking us through murder cases from the beginning to the end. Because of the nature of the episodes I only listen when I’m at work during the day, I don’t want to bring the energy into my other spaces if that makes sense.
Call Your Girlfriend
CYG is the only podcast that was in my original list of favourite podcasts that is still a current favourite. You can read more about it here.
Special mention to: Insecuritea – The Insecure Aftershow
One of my favourite TV shows is Insecure by the ever so talented Issa Rae. This podcast is a recap show of each episode of the show hosted by Crissle and Fran. I really love hearing their views on the show and the chemistry between them is fun to listen to and makes the podcast. I’m so ready for the next season of Insecure and Insecuritea.
