I first came across medical aesthetics sometime this year due to its explosion on my social media feed, especially on Instagram. Aesthetic medicine “comprises all medical procedures that are aimed at improving the physical appearance and satisfaction of the patient, using non-invasive to minimally invasive cosmetic procedures.” So when Zuri Medical Aesthetics reached out to me to learn more about all they do, I was all in.

Zuri Medical Aesthetics was launched in January 2019 by Dr Bongiwe Msimang after she made the move from practicing traditional medicine to medical aesthetics. The byline for the practice is: Skin, Body & Health Solutions, Dr Msimang believes in holistically taking care of ourselves, inside and out.

The practice offers a wide range of non-surgical procedures such as: IV Therapy (Glutathione Drip, Vitamin Boost, Hydration), Skin Rejuvenation (Chemical peel, Brightening mask, LED Light Therapy), Anti-Ageing Treatments (Microneedling), Body Sculpting (Fir Sauna) and Hair Rejuvenation at affordable prices.

The practice is very welcoming and tranquil, upon arrival I was sat down and offered something to drink while I filled in the forms. My initial conversation with Dr Msimang was mostly about my medical history and her explaining the type of treatments that would be suitable for my current issues. I left feeling knowledgeable and at ease about my future treatments.
I am going to be doing treatments with Zuri Medical Aesthetics in the future. I have started doing the hair rejuvenation for my hairline – I will be updating you on my progress as time goes on. The plan is to also do face treatments once I’ve been off my Accutane treatment for 3 months.
