I don’t know about you but I’ve been needing a break and time away for the longest time. As a person who used to travel a lot before the panasonic, being at home and sleeping in my own bed for so long has been gettting to me. A weekend away with the family was a nice way to get all of us together again and also get a change of environment for a short while.
We booked a house in Zimbali in Ballito where we all convened and spent most of the weekend just chilling.

The house was a 4 bedroom, 4 en-suite bathroom house on 2 levels with a basement area and a mezzanine level. The bedrooms were all upstairs and the living area downstairs. It was such a gorgeous house! I loved the fact that there was a pool table (more on that later) and a bar.

The basement/study area had a selection of toys and a toddler seating area, as a parent I appreciated this so much. They also had a set of toddler cultery and crockery so we didn’t have to worry about Mpilo possibly breaking any of the adult glasses. She was upon the toys the minute she saw them and had that baby doll with her the whole weekend.

The outside area was small but well set out with a smallanyana pool which we put to good use.

We ate good food throughout the weekend. My sister made the yummiest charcuterie boards.

Drinks were also flowing. I had my first taste of the canned BNG and I quite liked it, the packaging and portability are standout. I also made a gin, lime and sparkling water cocktail with raspberry , pomegranate and mint – it was a hit!

Pool time was mandatory. Mpilo loves being in water so she spent most of her Saturday in the pool. I unfortunately had some work to finish up on Saturday afternoon but I joined in on pool time as soon as I could.

My sister was shooting content for her Instagram travel account – which you should check out if you’re into travelling, she also shares very usueful information on each of the areas where she goes.

At one point Mpilo had to get out of the pool during content creation and she wasn’t happy about that! lol

I am proud to report that my pool skills are still on point! I played several games against my niece and nephew and I won them all!
This looks amazing. Even a home body like myself can attest to the power of a different environment.
