life lately 04

It’s been very quiet on this blog recently – my apologies for that. I am going to try to post more regularly, at least 1 post a week going forward. But before I jump into regular content, I want to fill you in on what’s been happening in my life recently and we can take it from there!

Off social media
I have finally cut the cord and deactivated my blog Instagram page and my Twitter account. I just needed a break from the information overload that is social media, even though I don’t follow too many people, especially on Twitter, it’s still a lot. I am on Tik-Tok though and I’m enjoying that more than I though I would.

Back to school
One thing that has been keeping me busy is the fact that I am currently studying. I’m doing an online course through UCT and boy! I had forgotten the effort that goes into working full-time & studying. I’m nearly halfway through the course though, so I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Fully vaxxed
After losing all faith in our government with regards to how they’ve handled the pandemic, there was one light in the midst of all this. I am fully vaccinated since mid-September . It makes me feel a whole lot better about my chances if (knocks on wood) I contract the virus. It also means my travel options have just opened up! Now I just need for The President to do away with the need for a test for fully vaccinated travellers. Siyazicelela 

Back to the gym
Now that I’m fully vaxxed I decided to restart my gym membership after I had cancelled it during the thick of the pandemic. I’m back at the gym I want to say about 2 times a week, other times I do home workouts. The crazy part is now I spend most of my times in the weights/machines section (I’m tryna build muscle) as opposed to before when I was all about cardio. It has been a lesson in: being comfortable in my lane (not caring that I’m lifting 10kg when people around me are doing 50kg) and learning a new skill.

I clicked on and was delighted to see several new posts. Proof of how much social media plays into my blog promotion. Even if i don’t click through in that moment, i know a new post exists!

Yay to being fully vaxxed! Congratulations to you for returning to school as well.

I’ll never even broach trying to leave social media because for me, yeah that’s very far off in the future
