We went for a night staycation in the midlands of KwaZulu-Natal last week and it was exactly what I needed. I also took the rest of the week off work, so the night away was the start of 4 more days of rest and relaxation.

The weather has been gloomy and wet in KZN recently and this in my opinion is perfect Midlands weather #cosyvibes, however, the weather was good to us and the sun came out. We stayed at Africamps in Gowan Valley, we arrived in the afternoon and enjoyed some time around the accommdation, went to the playground, the river and spent some time in the hot tub. The next morning, I took advantage of a slow morning and woke up early, had my coffee while reading a book. We made breakfast and then checked out the Mandela Capture site and a stroll around Piggly Wiggly. We finished off with lunch at Blueberry Cafe before heading off to Durban.

Enjoy some photos from the day.

My daughter took this photo of me within the Nelson Mandela statue. My dress is a recent buy from Superbalist and my boots are from Poetry – as mentioned in my winter 2021 favourites.

That night picture is gorgeous! The Midlands are beautiful. I’m glad i got to experience the region a little earlier this year.
