Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin Beauty Talks with Edgars

Edgars Beauty hosted a Beauty Talk event with Fenty Global makeup artist, Hector Espinal, for the launching of Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin in their stores. The Durban event was held on Saturday 28 May at The Pencil Club in Umhlanga. I bought a ticket for the event for R750 and attended the 10:00 session. After the event I went to Edgars in Gateway Mall to check out the new Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin stand since the products were already on sale.

I had a great time, it has been a long time since I’ve been at a beauty event. I arrived just after 10:00, we hung out in the lobby for about 5 minutes and then were ushered up to The Pencil Club on the 22nd floor. There was food, drinks, a DJ and beauty stations where we could try out the products. The masterclass started just after 11:00, there were 2 models that were given a full Fenty face by Hector and another makeup artist, Debbie. There was also a chance for us to ask Hector some questions afterwards. The host for the event was Linda Mtoba.

Some of my thoughts about the event and the stand at Edgars…

The masterclass was amazing! I learnt so much in a short space of time that Hector was sharing his knowledge. I already have a number of Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin products and it was beneficial to learn tips and tricks of how to use the products. What came out strongly was how the products are multi-use.

I wish they would’ve had a dark skin model for the masterclass. I would’ve loved to see Hector or Debbie using the Fenty products for darker skin women during the masterclass.

The goodie bag was cute. It consisted of the bag, a sample size gloss bomb cream in Fenty Glow, foundation samples for colour matching and samples of the Fenty Skin starter kit products. We also received a R750 Edgars voucher for Fenty products, which is how much we paid for the event.

The Edgars stand was fully kitted out and there were 4 attendants that were helping people out. There were some products which are labelled Coming Soon – I hope that will be within the next few weeks.

I was disappointed that the product that I wanted to buy with my voucher is also Coming Soon. It’s the Freestyle Killawatt Highlighter in Ginger Binge and Moscow Mule. The voucher is valid until 30 June so I’m hoping it will be in stock by then.

Hector also shared that the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear foundation has been discontinued. However, you can still get the similar finish by adding the Fenty Skin Hydravizor to the matte foundation.

This is a great recap! I saw the stories and was wondering why they did not use an African model for the demonstration especially in Africa…will it be the same in other African countries?

I am so disappointed about the hydrating foundation..will try get it from their site.

Super disappointed because there’s no lack of dark skin models in SA. They’re running out of shades of the hydrating foundation on the site & the available ones are on special at R255

You looked so cute! Full blogger event mode. I’m surprised the gift card was for that much. Have aall the coming soon products come yet?

It was lovely and nice to be out and about.

Unfortunately not yet but they have added other products so that’s a good sign that they won’t be stagnant.
