a morning at a farm

finchley farms barn eggs

Not my typical Friday morning! This past Friday I spent some time at Finchley Farm to learn more about how they produce their eggs. It was such an informative and eye opening morning. We always tend to hear about the bad conditions that the animals that give us our sustinence live in, so it was great to visit a place where the hens are treated well.

kzn blogger meet up 2018

This past weekend I attended the KZN blogger meet up, this was my third time attending event – I’ve been there since it first launched in 2016 #committed! The reason I attend is that it is always so well organised, informative and fun – I always get to meet new bloggers and learn so much. I can tell you that I have sooo many things on my to-do list based off the talks at the event. If you’re a blogger in KZN, I do urge you to attend it next year, it will be well worth your time and money. View Post

event // craft beer and food pairing at garden court marine parade

craft beer and food pairing Garden Court Marine Parade

Last week I attended a fun craft beer and food pairing event hosted at the Garden Court Marine Parade. The event was centered around a partnership between the hotel and a local brewery: The Standeaven Brewery. It was my first time hearing about a craft beer and food pairing, I’m so used to wine and food pairing, but I was very open to the experience. We were treated to yummy food created by the chef of the hotel, Qhawe Tshabalala using some of the drinks from The Standeaven Brewery. We were hosted on the rooftop of the hotel on a rare windy and cold Durban day but there was a fire going to keep up warm and toasty. I really enjoyed learning about this partnership between the hotel and a local brewery to showcase the range of award-winning beers and gins from local brewery. View Post

the house and garden show 2018 … just take all my money!

The House and Garden Show 2018

The House and Garden Show is Durban staple over the June/July school holidays and after having a great time at the show last year I knew that I had to attend again this year. The theme this year is: Home is where the heart is and is focused on redefining the concept of a home by showcasing timeless trends, functionality, with convenient comfort aimed at styling a distinctive space best suited to its unique inhabitants – its family. I attended the show on the first day, I was in fact waiting in the queue waiting for the 10am opening time (eager much!). Being early helped somewhat because I got in before it got too crowded so I was able to peruse in peace. View Post

event // rain christmas range launch

Rain Africa pavilion store

On Saturday morning I attended the launch event of the Rain Christmas collection at their store at The Pavilion. I enjoyed my time there and got to meet new bloggers and connect with those I had already met before. All the products in the Christmas range are to die for and will make awesome presents. The range is already available in stores, or you can shop it online if you don’t have a store close to where you are. I took some photos at the event, you can peep those after the jump and get a sneak peek of the Rain Christmas range. View Post

kzn bloggers meetup

This past weekend I attended the KZN bloggers meetup that was held in Umhlanga. This was the second time I had attended this event, last year’s installment was fun and informative – I was expecting no less this year. It was one of my very few mommy mornings out and I was determined to have a good time! The event was held at I want my coffee – a very stylish coffee shop; it was my first time in this part of town – now I know where to go for coffee whenever I am in the Umhlanga area. Peep some pictures from the event after the jump. View Post

Fro fiesta 2017

This past weekend I attended the Fro Fiesta; this was the first hair event I had ever attended – events such as these are very few and far in between in Durban so I was super excited for this one. I get super jealous when I read about and see photos of hair events in other parts of the world and thus I was really glad to finally have one of our own. I had a great time; I even brought along my baby girl and she had a great time as well (I think!). Read further to see photos from the event and what went down. View Post

event // the house and garden show

I must admit that even though I have lived in Durban for over 5 years now, I have never attended the House and Garden Show. Well, that all changed this year as I went to check out the show this past weekend. What I liked most about the show was that it covers a lot of areas from home, food and garden – so there is something for everyone. We mostly walked around to check out the different exhibitors, bought some items (hello fudge!) and ate some food. Check out some pictures that I took at the show. View Post

event // tresemme botanique launch

Tresemme Botanique Media Launch

I am slowly getting my way back to blogging and vlogging after my break for my maternity leave. Part of being a blogger is attending new product launches and letting you guys know about new products that are in the South African market. I was invited to the launch for the Tresemme Botanique range in Johannesburg on the 19th of May. I enjoyed myself at the event and it was a beautiful setup. It’s always great to be at these events at meet some of the bloggers that I follow and interact with on social media.  View Post
